One thing that might help, when it wont let you back in; close out your browser(s), entirely and then reopen it. Clearing the temporary files and what not, may help.

I agree I am having the same problem today, something wrong and it might be related to the date I suppose. Or maybe just a coincidence. Let me know if you find out something, other sites I have seem to be ok.

Added:
Ok I was able to log in the problem was that joomla could not find some missing sessions tmps and the DB (MySQL) got screwed up. I tried to install 1.5 and couldn't but when I told the installer to use the old DB, it installed (in a different directory) and fix the problem I was having correcting the session errors. Hope this helps. Good luck!

This could be a bug in Joomla. That exact same thing used to happen to me as well. I then upgraded Joomla to the latest version available and that solved the problem (the release notes for that version *did* specify that some fixes were made to the login module).

I also suggest that you try to login to "www.myjoomlainstallation.com/admin/" instead of "myjoomlainstallation.com/admin/" (or vice versa... check the hostname in the joomla admin section).
